Innovative Action UNISTEP 1st phase: Construction of an Autonomous Robotic Vehicle
IS&RL participated in the 1st phase of the UNISTEP Innovative Action for the development of the autonomous robotic vehicle Ale I. It was developed during the period July 2004 until March 2005. Ale I is an autonomous robotic vehicle, modular, reprogrammable and expandable, able to serve educational and research needs. Ale I may easily become a competitive commercial product.
Ale I main characteristics :
- compact dimensions and low-cost construction,
- user friendly environment with reprogrammable central processing unit,
- ability to use different kinds of sensors,
- wireless telecommunication with remote base station or other Ale robot and
- 2 hours of autonomous operation.
