RoboCup 2006
The Intelligent Systems & Robotics Laboratory participated in the Service Robotics Exhibition, held in Bremen, during the Robocup 2006, 14/06 until 18/06. 2,613 researchers in 440 teams from 36 countries participated in the 10th Robocup that is the biggest annual robotics competition with 15.270 visitors. The technical exhibition 'Service Robotics' accompanied the RoboCup competitions and presented topics like mobile service robotics, components and technologies for mobile robots, miniaturized robots / micro robots, educational robotic toys, education and training in robotics and service robots for applications. The research and educational activities of the IS&RL were presented at the stand of the Technical University of Crete, that was the only one Greek participation. The visitors of the stand could also see the ALE II robotic vehicle that was developed in the laboratory and the unmanned helicopter RAPTOR 60 with its Autonomous Navigation System.
